Dubai to Salalah Chauffeur: Private Cross-Border Travel at a Fixed Fare
Our Dubai to Salalah chauffeur service takes you from a Dubai address to your destination in Dhofar. You travel in a private luxury vehicle with a professional chauffeur.
This is a long road journey across an international border. So the details matter. Below, we explain the route, the border, your documents, your vehicle and your fare.
Route, Border and Documents for Your Journey
How long is the drive from Dubai to Salalah?
The road distance is more than 1,200 km. Plan for roughly 12 to 14 hours in total.
Treat that as a guide, not a promise. Border formalities, rest stops, traffic and road works all affect the time. Your pickup area and departure time matter too.
Rest is part of a safe plan. Oman’s authorities encourage regular stops on this route. Haima and Thumrait are practical places to refuel and rest before the mountain roads into Salalah.
Why not drive yourself?
Driving 1,200 km takes planning and energy. With a chauffeur, you hand both over:
- You rest while your chauffeur drives
- You skip navigation, fuel planning and parking
- Your vehicle suits your group and luggage
- You can work, talk or relax on the road

Which Border Crossing?
Two common crossings for this Dubai to Salalah route are Hatta, east of Dubai, and Mezyad, near Al Ain. The better choice depends on your pickup point and timing. We advise on the best crossing for your trip when you enquire.
-
Hatta border post — east of Dubai, suited to pickups from Dubai Marina, Downtown, Business Bay and DIFC
-
Mezyad border post — near Al Ain, an alternative depending on your departure point and schedule
- Border-crossing assistance starts before you travel. We plan every cross-border chauffeur trip from Dubai into Oman in advance and explain what to carry.
- Officers in both countries decide on entry, and queue times vary. Neither we nor your chauffeur can control either.
- Allow extra time in your plans for the border. Keep your Salalah schedule flexible around the crossing.
Direct Transfer or Overnight Stop?
Beyond the Oman border, the route crosses the country's interior along what is widely known as Route 31 — the main artery heading south towards Dhofar and Salalah. Parts of this highway are currently being upgraded. Sections of active roadworks can add time to the journey, depending on traffic controls and the time of day you travel.
Our drivers know the road well. When you book a Dubai to Salalah chauffeur transfer, we factor current road conditions into your confirmed departure time. For the Khareef season (July to September), when demand for overnight stops in Nizwa and Muscat is higher, we recommend booking at least seven days ahead.
The table below summarises both options. If you are unsure which suits your dates, ask us before booking — we confirm all details and any extra arrangements at the time the fare is agreed.
Both routes use the same luxury vehicle fleet and the same fixed, all-in fare structure. The difference is time in the vehicle and how you choose to experience the journey.
We confirm your option, fare, any hotel in Nizwa, and Oman permit at booking — before a single payment is made. No surprises on the road.
Entry Requirements and Documents
Oman's entry rules depend on your nationality and residence status. They can change, so check official guidance before you travel. Every passenger must hold the right entry permission before departure. Use this table as a starting point.
| Traveller | Confirm Before You Go |
|---|---|
| All passengers | A valid passport or accepted travel document |
| UAE residents | Your UAE residence status and any visa your nationality needs for Oman |
| Omani & GCC citizens | Which travel document the border accepts for your nationality |
| Other nationalities | Whether you need an Oman visa before departure |
| Children | A valid travel document for each child |
- Passports for every passenger
- Any Oman visa or permit your nationality requires
- UAE residence documents, if you live in the UAE
- Your booking details
Fixed Pricing and What to Confirm Before You Book
Fixed pricing applies to every booking. Your exact fare is confirmed at the time of booking.
Your Dubai to Salalah chauffeur price is set when you book, not by a meter. We quote each journey individually because every route, vehicle and date is different.
| Factor | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Pickup point | Dubai, another emirate or an airport |
| Drop-off in Salalah | Hotel, resort, home or airport |
| Vehicle | Sedan, SUV, V-Class or Sprinter |
| Passengers & luggage | They decide which vehicle you need |
| One way or return | Your return plans shape the arrangements |
| Dates and timing | Peak summer dates need earlier planning |
| Extra stops or overnight | Confirmed with your fare at booking |

Luxury Sedans for Executives & Couples

Families and Shared Luggage
A Dubai to Salalah family car with driver needs room for both people and bags. Choose an SUV above or the V-Class — it seats up to 7 passengers with a flexible rear cabin. For a more exclusive configuration, the V-Class Maybach seats up to 5 in four first-class club seats. Tell us how many adults, children and bags are travelling — we recommend the best fit.

Dubai to Salalah is not a city transfer. It is a 1,200+ KM cross-border journey across two countries — and the difference between a good experience and a difficult one is who has done it before.

Drivers Who Know This Road
Route 31 through the Hajar Mountains and the Thumrait approach to Salalah are different from anything on the UAE road network. Our drivers travel this corridor regularly — they know the fuel stops, the rest areas and the weather on the Dhofar descent.
Oman Permit Confirmed in Advance
The cross-border vehicle permit is arranged by us before your departure date. You do not wait at the border hoping paperwork is in order — it is filed and confirmed as part of your booking.
One Price — Nothing Added at the Border
Your fare is fixed at the time of booking. Fuel, Oman permit, tolls and driver costs are all included. There are no border additions, no fuel surcharges and nothing to settle on arrival in Salalah.
Your Named Driver for the Full Journey
The driver who collects you in Dubai is the same driver who delivers you in Salalah. No handover, no vehicle change at the border. Your luggage, your group and your itinerary stay with one person throughout.
Vehicles Prepared for the Distance
A 1,200 KM journey is not a city run. Each vehicle on this route is checked before departure — tyres, fluids, air conditioning and luggage capacity confirmed against your group's requirements.
A Direct Line, Not a Call Centre
When you contact us, you reach the team handling your transfer — not a booking platform or a third-party operator. If your departure changes at short notice, we are reachable around the clock to adjust.
Dubai to Salalah: Taxi or Private Chauffeur?
Can a taxi go from Dubai to Salalah? Metered city taxis are not set up for cross-border trips. How much is a taxi from Dubai to Salalah? A metered fare cannot answer that for this route. A pre-booked chauffeur gives you a fixed fare instead.
| Metered City Taxi | Pre-Booked Chauffeur | |
|---|---|---|
| Fare | Runs on a meter | Fixed, confirmed at booking |
| Cross-border trip | Not set up for it | Planned in advance |
| Booking | Requested on the day | Booked before you travel |
Good bookings start with clear answers. Ask us for these details before you confirm:
- Which border crossing we will use
- What your fixed fare includes
- Whether extra stops or an overnight stay are possible
- Your cancellation terms
- What happens if the border causes a delay

Plans still open? That is fine. Tell us what you know — even approximate dates and a rough group size. We will hold a provisional quote and confirm everything once your dates are set, with no obligation until you confirm.
Planning Around
the Khareef Season
Khareef runs from roughly early June to late September. During these months, Dhofar receives the only monsoon in Arabia — the hills above Salalah turn green, waterfalls run at Wadi Darbat, and frankincense trees fill the roadside mist. It is Salalah's most visited season, and it is the busiest period for this private transfer route.
Roads are busier in the Khareef season. Cloud and drizzle in the Dhofar hills can affect driving conditions on the final approach to Salalah from the Thumrait junction. Our drivers travel this section regularly and know the road in all weather.
Book early for Khareef. Enquire as soon as your dates are set — vehicles for Khareef season travel book ahead, particularly July and August departures from Dubai.
Tell us your journey type, dates and group size. We confirm your option, fare and Oman permit — one-way or return — before any payment is made.
